- Easy install.

- User Auth, incl. password recovery, basic permissions, etc.
- File type verification
- Voting, up/down/offensive
- Type sorting, audio/video/text/images
- Vote/Rating Sorting (Top 100, etc)
- File comments.
- Simple installer.
Nice to Haves
- Tagging
- Friends

What could be done with this generic file pile thing?
Generic files sound pretty boring.
Convenient for you that "friends" is only on the "nice to haves" list, because you wont have many with CRAZY IDEAS like this.
