Because Jesus didn't come back until the movies were out, but they sucked ("turned out poorly"), and then he did come back (i.e., into your life? "Who I Used To Be") but that was a wash too ("poorly ... on all counts")...???
Sorry if I'm trying to make prose out of poetry... :-)
